Designing a System Around Easy to Use SLS Printers

We partnered with Wematter to shape their design language and make their SLS printing systems accessible and easy to use. From two entrepreneurs straight out of university to a company with 40 employees, now part of 3D Systems, one of the largest 3D printing companies in the world. From Concept to Market

Designing products with low-volume production in mind, while maintaining precision and affordability, presented an exciting challenge. We explored a wide variety of concepts, all focused on achievable production methods, from sheet metal to 3D-printed components. These efforts resulted in an accessible, compact, and high-precision SLS system that stands out in the market.

Ergonomics and Prototyping

Our process included extensive ergonomics prototyping to ensure the product was intuitive and comfortable for users. Each design was tested for ease of use, ensuring that both operators and technicians could work efficiently.
