Myra was assigned to be the design partner in the development of SAMBA II, a cutting-edge HIV blood analyzer that delivers fast and accurate viral load measurement. This innovative instrument has the potential to transform healthcare delivery in resource-constrained settings and make a significant impact in reducing the number of new HIV infections in children. With early detection, SAMBA II empowers healthcare providers to tackle the spread of the virus on site.

The design focus was on creating a user-friendly experience that was consistent with the product’s purpose and patented technology. The design process for physical handling, graphics and UI flow emphasized ease of use, intuitiveness, and simplicity, making it accessible to operators with varying levels of skill and infrastructure.
