Create a new digital platform with optimal ergonomics
The goal of the design project was to develop a brand-new control system for Ålö’s front loader, designed for optimal ergonomics for the international market. With the help of a joystick, screen, and a cloud-based platform, the user can intuitively customize functions, automate movements, and access essential information for post-work analysis.
International user studies shape the design
Given the goal of introducing new digital technology in a conservative international market, Myra’s design work was focused on anchoring all ideas in the user’s experience. Through user testing and analysis across Europe, Myra refined ideas and created functional prototypes before finalizing the design.
The world’s most flexible control system for farmers of the future
Results: The Quicke QE -command joystick features a sleek design and can be mounted on a flexible arm for easy adjustments for optimal comfort. The joystick grip design helps the operator hold it correctly, and the proportional rocker and frequently used buttons are easily accessible without releasing the loader joystick. Professional farming requires precision and reduced environmental impact, and with the optional Q-companion system, the operator gains access to useful information. The Q-companion system includes sensors on the front loader, a color display, and a menu system controlled by the joystick scroll wheel, providing accurate load weighing, task hours, and maintenance reminders. A data transfer app completes the package.
