Designing packaging for Wematter’s large-scale SLS machines, some as large as 2 cubic meters, presented unique challenges. The packaging needed to be practical, cost-effective, and easy to handle, while also creating a positive unboxing experience. We focused on a production method that was feasible for such a large package, using a plywood structure that could be built on a standardized pallet. The design also had to ensure that the package was easily maneuverable with a pallet lift, while being visually engaging and functional—such as including a front panel that doubles as a ramp for effortless machine setup.
